This bee had just awoken when I painted this watercolour.
After a two hour nap, inside the centre collapsed rose.
I had been gardening around the roses and initially spotted her legs sticking out. Upon opening the collapsed rose, I found her asleep.
I watched for a full two hours before she finally crawled out to this position, waiting a further 15 minutes before flying away.
Just magical!
Hence the name The Sleeping Bee.
