Who hasn’t enjoyed walking across these wobbly stepping stones across the Chess?
We certainly did very regular walks over them during covid, and still enjoy walking there. 
They have recently been replaced by the River Chess association with sturdier logs, but there was always a joy in watching them wobble and wondering if you were going to make it safely across!
 
I have photographed them many times, and felt that they were a part of the beauty of the story of the Chess, which of course the pool is part of with its natural spring, and Chess all around it.
They look like stepping stones to another land….
